Department of Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the art and science of using volatile plant oils for preventative care, healing, and relaxation.
It is becoming more acceptable today for the general populace to turn to aromatherapy for both healing and relaxation. We couldn't be more pleased. Additionally, current research continues to validate the efficacy of essential oils.
The aromatherapy programs at ACHS are available through distance education or on-campus instruction. While it is not required, we do encourage students to attend our Summer School in Syros, Greece for a truly unique and rewarding educational experience. Students are also encouraged to visit our Oregon campus for a more personal understanding of aromatherapy, our community wellness classes, and a tour of our botanical teaching garden.
The ACHS Department of Aromatherapy looks forward to hearing from you soon.

Department of Homeobotanical Therapy
Homeobotanical therapy is a blended modality, a careful balance between herbalism and homeopathy that draws upon and combines the benefits of both fields. Developed in New Zealand nearly 20 years ago, ACHS has exclusive rights to teach this exciting new modality in the USA. Homeobotanical remedies are low-potency, palatable remedies designed to selectively support the body in the natural restoration of health by improving nutrition, opening drainage, and stimulating healing.
Homeobotanical therapy has the power to enhance the healing abilities of even the most experienced natural health practitioner.
The Homeobotanical Therapy Department at ACHS consists of primarily two programs: the certificate program, which trains those of you looking to add an exciting and effective modality to your natural health practice; and the professional Diploma program, which incorporates Herb 401 and is an ideal program for medical professionals who wish to integrate complementary alternative medicine into their current practice.
Department of Holistic Medicine
Holistic Medicine and Natural Health comprise a wide range of modalities. The ACHS Holistic Medicine Department offers a diverse selection of holistic medicine complementary and alternative training courses designed to enable you to select the modalities that are of most interest to you or most applicable to your holistic health practice. Many holistic health practitioners integrate multiple holistic health modalities in their practice to assist clients in achieving optimal health.
The ACHS Department of Holistic Medicine includes training in the use of: herbs, bodycare, flower essences, iridology, homeopathy, holistic anatomy and physiology, holistic health consulting, holistic nutrition, holistic pathophysiology and pathology, and a comprehensive Diploma in Holistic Health Practice.
Whether you're considering a career as a holistic health practitioner, a wellness counselor, or opening your own holistic health practice, the ACHS Department of Holistic Medicine hopes to see you soon.
